Jean Ville (24 June 1910 - 22 January 1989) was a French mathematician, economist, engineer, and computer scientist. He entered Ecole Normale Superieure in 1929. In 1931 he earned a degree in probability from the University of Paris. In 1939 he published a book that was an important milestone in the development of game-theoretic probability.
